The Deutsches Praerie Saengerfest was a not-quite annual event that celebrated the traditions and culture of the German community in Alberta. From what we can tell, it was held in various cities throughout Alberta starting in 1968 - this 1984 edition was hosted in Calgary, as was [url=https://www.austrianclub.ca/sanegerfest]the final version in 2017[/url]. This tape is document of the choirs that performed at the 1984 festival, including groups from Calgary, Lethbridge, and Medicine Hat.
