We're willing to bet Doug Wong was involved with getting this record into the world, judging from the font on the cover alone. The notes on the back cover don't give us that, but they do include a blurb from David Wilkie, back in his radio days: There's been a lot of Cowboy music on the radio these days. Everyone's cashing in on the cowboy mystique. They all look great on their album covers..decked out in their cowboy gear. But how many of them have picked themselves up from the dust after being thrown in the arena? How many of them have driven all night to get to the next rodeo? How many have felt the glory of being a saddle-bronc champion, rode in the Calgary Stampede or contracted stock to rodeos all over North America? Wayne Vold has done all this and much more. His syndicated Country Music T.V. show featured most of Country Music's biggest names and was largely responsible for putting Calgary on the Country Music map. My general response to most cowboy singers who bring in albums for airplay is "I won't ride broncs, if you promise not to sing". Well, I laid that to rest when I heard Wayne. Wayne's a great singer, entertainer and a credit to Country Music. Hats off to Wayne Vold -. Dave Wilkie, Music Director, CFAC Radio Producer OPRY NORTH.
