We were fans of Sylvan Breaker's prior band, the cheekily-named Chief n' Council, for their ramschackle garage pop. They Say Stories sees Breaker polishing things up a bit to let his catchy songwriting shine through - Daydreams Will Do leans heavily on 90's slacker bands like Sebadoh and Pavement (Breaker channels Malkmus's vocal delivery in more that one place), with "Keep Dreaming" being one of the best songs Guided By Voices never released.
