We had to take a bit of time to decode what we could from the liner notes on this LP; there's scant info about the Mal Simpson Big Band in the Herald - it looks like Simpson also played in jazz trio around clubs. What did help us out a pile was this ad from the Herald, around the same time this record came out. The brief description is on the money: this is very well played, and ranges from standards like "Lady is a Tramp" and "My Way" to... "The Hustle!"
