Nachtmusik delivers on all of the promises of Poltergeist's demo recordings. Frontman Kalen Baker's mix of goth and metal is refined and brought into sharper focus with the benefit of a full band (including Al Lester of Vancouver's Spell on drums) and a bigger production budget. There are hints of Ghost in here, without the poppy sugarcoating - and also hints of Spectres's moody postpunk. It's anthemic and gloomy at the same time - and we like it a lot.
