Nightspeak brings together three musicians who we're pretty sure we've seen play together loads of times at Bug Incision events, but have never recorded as a trio. This gorgeously-packaged cassette was recorded in 2019 - it's perhaps a long-overdue release, but was totally worth the wait considering the calibre of the playing. Andrew Hume is on drums and Devin Friesen is on guitar - as expected - with multi-instrumentalist Nate Waters sticking to saxophone. The trio coalesces around moments of beauty on tracks like "Blue Flame" and transition as easily into angular bursts in "Stained Coat." This is great stuff.
