We've previously featured a bunch of singles from Ron Sillito, so it's time to get into this full-length he put out on Westmount Records in 1975. A bunch of the songs on here are from those singles, so there's not a lot of surprises on here - this is country that leans pretty heavily towards the pop side of things, thanks in part to Sillito's rich voice. What was surprising on this was a note on the back of the cover which tells us he got his start playing shows at Western Canada High School alongside a classmate - Ray Griff! We need to go scour the grad photos on the walls of that school to see if we can find their photo now... From the back cover: Ron's interest in music was awakened while he was attending Western Canada High School in Calgary, Alberta. He and Ray Griff, also attending Western at the same time, entertained at the school's functions. In 1964 he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, and for the next two years he travelled the road throughout the mid-western and western States from Bend, Oregon to Omaha, Nebraska. He was drafted in 1965 and spent the following two years in the American Army, stationed in Atlanta, Georgia. He spent some time travelling and entertaining with the U.S.O. shows and special services, but still found time to play in pizza parlors and lounges in the Atlanta area. Returning to Canada in September, 1968, he settled in Lethbridge, Alberta, and has since entertained throughout southern Alberta. During this time he met Dennis Carney from Pincher Creek, whose ability as a fine young writer is demonstrated in his songs contained in the album. This album is the accumulation of the many years Ron has spent writing, playing, singing and travelling-gathering his 'pocket full of dreams'.
