Like Volume 1 from the Old Agency Singers, this is also still available from Indian House at https://indianhouse.com/collections/northern-plains/products/old-agency-singers-of-the-blood-reserve-vol-2 From the liner notes: SINGERS JM CHIEF CALF JOHN CHIEF CALF DOMINIC CROSS CHILD JARVIE DAY CHIEF DEAN PLUME DAN WEASEL MOCCASIN SR. DANIEL WEASEL MOCCASIN JR. STEWART WEASEL MOCCASIN The Old Agency Singers have been singing as a group for the past 25 years. Although most of the members here changed over the years, a few of the original members are still in this group. They are called the Old Agency Singers because most of them live in the area of the old Blood Agency. The Blood call themselves Kainel, which means many chiefs. According to Mr. Dan Weasel Moccasin Sr., the Blood received the grass dance from the Sioux in North Dakota. The grass dance is considered the original war dance by the Blood, and the dancers are in buckskin clothes. The newer chicken dance is also from North Dakota; the Blood call it chicken dance because the dancers in the United States wear a lot of feathers as compared to the traditional buckskin clothes of the Blood. Chicken dance songs are usually faster than grass dance songs, and the dancers use faster and fancier movements than in the grass dance. We are very happy to present these songs and these fine singers from the Blood Reserve. Recorded at Stand Off, Alberta July 27, 1972 Recording and Notes – Tony Isaacs
